I’m Elsie & This is My Story:
I was born in Idaho where my family attended a little Mennonite church in the country. It was here I learned to love Jesus – along with Yellowstone, horses, and the smell of sagebrush. When my family moved to northern Michigan, we became entangled in a cult. I rebelled but was finally persuaded to join. I left my friends, family, and everything I held dear.
When strange, supernatural things started to happen, I realized my mistake and ran for my life. I was homeless in a foreign country for a time before finding my way back home – only to find it gone. These harrowing experiences inspired my debut novel, Eve’s Covering.
Faith and family are the most important things in my life. I’m Mom to two adult children and Mimi to three awesome grandkids. I plan on adding more arrows to my Mimi quiver.
I’ve studied creative writing at Ferris State University and I went on to teach literature and composition at an academy while living in Ukraine as a missionary. I love traveling, tacos, and all things purple. I reside in northern Michigan with my husband and soulmate, David, and our cheeky cavalier spaniel, Mr. Bingley.
